Just One Day of Your Life Can Change Someone Else’s Forever
Home fires claim seven lives every day, but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half.
That’s why the American Red Cross is rallying volunteers to install 50,000 free smoke alarms nationwide, as part of our Sound the Alarm events.
In order to do this we need your help notifying residents in the Albany community so they are aware that we are offering this service this May,
As part of the Big Event you and a small team will be escorted by van with American Red Cross Pro staff to distribute informational pamphlets for families.
We will meet in the Campus Center Assembly Hall directly after the American Red Cross Dual Trainings at 11am!
Want to make a whole morning of it? sign up for the trainings too!
Join us for a rewarding Morning at the Sound the Alarm event
Transportation will be provided from the Campus Center/ Science Library Bus Circle
Please arrive at the the Bus circle by 10:45 am. Look for the volunteer host who will have a large sign that correlates to this need. They will have on a brown baseball cap with a purple “you are here” symbol.
Thank you so much for your commitment to our community and UAlbany’s Annual Big Event. Don't forget to share what you are up too on social #BeBigUAlbany and tag @UAlbanyLeads for your chance to be featured on the Main UAlbany Instagram Page.
