On Saturday, October 24th the UAlbany Men's Basketball team, Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, and the Liberty Partnership Program will co-host the University's Annual Dunk-or-Treat Program. This event brings together families and children from across the Capital Region for a fun-filled afternoon of trick-or-treating and family-friendly activities.
Volunteers will be needed to assist with setting up the event, managing the program while it is occurring, and breaking down once it has concluded. Additionally, student organizations are invited to host a table at the program and provide/distribute candy to attendees. Although the program is scheduled to run from 1pm-4pm, multiple volunteer shifts are available.
STUDENT GROUPS WHO CHOOSE TO HOST A TABLE CAN ARRIVE AS EARLY AS 12PM TO BEGIN SETTING UP AND DECORATING THEIR TABLE. ALL ORGANIZATIONS WHO PRE-REGISTER WILL BE PROVIDED WITH ONE TABLE AND TWO CHAIRS. STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN CANDY TO DISTRIBUTE TO ATTENDEES AND SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ENGAGE WITH AT LEAST 600 CHILDREN OVER THE THREE-HOUR TIMEFRAME OF THE EVENT. ALL STUDENT GROUP TABLES SHOULD BE FULLY SET-UP BY 12:30PM AND STAFFED THROUGH THE END OF THE EVENT AT 4PM. PLEASE DO NOT BREAK DOWN EARLY AS FAMILIES/ KIDS ARRIVING TOWARDS THE END OF THE EVENT WILL NOT RECEIVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS THOSE THAT ARRIVED EARLIER IN THE DAY.
Students who choose to volunteer or table at the event are encouraged to come dressed in child-friendly costumes.
