Join us for A MONTH of Simple Giving
For the past 16 years, we’ve hosted an annual community service event, Simple Giving. Each year our donors, volunteers, local nonprofits and community businesses collect donations and create practical items to fill a need in our community. Although the format of this initiative has changed over time, each year the results have been nothing short of amazing: over $30,000 worth of goods are shared with individuals and families right here in the Capital Region every year. Together, we are building a community where everyone has access to basic essentials that improve their quality of life. Clothing, home essentials, and books support children and adults on their path to success.
This year we will, once again, host A MONTH of Simple Giving throughout November.
Families, community groups, and businesses can gather within their own circle or attend one of our limited scheduled events. We will highlight these individuals/groups and their participation during the month of November on our social media pages.
How to get involved?
- We are asking groups to support the work we do throughout the year by raising $100 per group. This will go a long way to fund Grassroot Givers’ Programs- sharing clothing and housewares with families transitioning from a shelter, and continuing to support literacy by sharing books with those who don’t have access to them. We couldn’t do this work without the generous support of people like you!
- We are asking groups to select a project (listed on the registration page), coordinate a collection drive, and assemble these items. You can fill out the online form to indicate how you would like to participate.
- Please send us pictures and/or a short 20 second video of you/your group collecting and/or assembling the kits. This is a great way to show your amazing community involvement by your family, organization, group, team, and business.
Have some fun - make a sign, decorate your table with your name on it.
To give us ample time to publicize your group, please submit your pictures and/or videos within 5 days of your event to info@grassrootgivers.org. Or if you prefer, we could have a Grassroot Givers’ representative attend your event and take pictures/videos.
