
Capital District Border Watch, CDBW, is holding a fundraising dinner on April 11 to benefit Capital Region Sanctuary Coalition, a group that has organized a rapid response network to assist and protect the local immigrant community from ICE. All funds raised at our event will be used to provide rent support for families impacted by ICE detention.
CDBW is currently looking for volunteers who can help with set-up, clean-up, and serving, between 5:00pm and 9:00pm. UAlbany students can count travel time, approximately 25 minutes each way, as volunteer hours)
Here are the event details:
Venue – First Lutheran Church, Albany, 181 Western Avenue. (easily accessible by one bus, either the 12 or the 910)
Date and time – April 11. The event begins at 6:00pm, volunteers arrive at 5pm.
Volunteers will use the rear entrance of the church on State Street. They can park in the church’s parking lot.
