The NYS Writers Institute is presenting the 5th annual Albany Book Festival on Saturday, September 17, 2022, on the UAlbany Uptown Campus. More information on the featured authors can be found on the Albany Book Festival website (https://www.albanybookfestival.com/)
We'd love help from student volunteers at this event!
Volunteer shifts available throughout the day (10am - 1:30pm and 1:30pm – 5pm). The first author event would begin at 10:30am (the last author signing would conclude by 5pm)
Various volunteer activities would include:
- Helping to direct attendees and answer questions in designated areas in the Campus Center and Campus Center West.
- Welcoming attendees and passing out programs
- Event Venue Monitor - assist with seating in the venue, replenish water bottles at the end of each event, keep event running on time
- Signing Area - helping to keep lines orderly, assisting authors by "flapping books" during signing times
- Author Escort - walking with authors from the green room area to their designated event space / and or to the book signing areas at the end of the event
On September 17th - please check in at the Information Desk in the Great Hall of the Campus Center West Addition (large counter across from the Starbucks and the Campus Center West Connections desk). You will be given a volunteer assignment, a yellow lanyard to wear during your shift, and more instructions.
