Volunteer: Volunteer/Intern for EarthQuest environment and climate gameThe Anam Earth Center for Sustainability and Culture, located in Albany County, New York, is offering part-time, flexible, semester-long internship and volunteer opportunities to work on the innovative EarthQuest game project. EarthQuest is an environmental and climate change role-playing game that incorporates mobile devices for accessing digital story maps, digital multimedia and augmented reality. In EarthQuest, players explore the near-future world reeling from climate disruption, societal and government collapse, and environmental calamity. Players take on the role of a team of Vanguardians, leaders of a global youth movement who lead the transition to ecological restoration, sustainability and climate adaptation and fight against the mysterious Other Forces. For this internship experience, you can be involved in one or more aspects of the game project. The specific tasks and hours are negotiable, and can accommodate student schedules. The goal is 3-10 flexible hours of remote/virtual work each week. Some current needs include: review and refinement of game mechanics; playtesting; writing/editing/scenario building; digital multimedia work (Blender, Reallusion and Voxal voice changer for 3D animation); augmented reality design; 3D printing; and digital product distribution using Google tools. The internship may be renewed each semester. For more information about the project, visit the webpage here: https://anamduan.org/?page_id=143.
