Volunteer: Albany Film Festival 2026 - volunteer opportunity

The NYS Writers Institute is presenting the 6th annual Albany Film Festival on Saturday, March 28, 2026, on the UAlbany Uptown Campus in the Campus Center and the Campus Center West Addition.

We'd love help from student volunteers at this event!

Volunteer shifts are available throughout the day (10:30am-2pm, and 2pm-5:30pm). The first official event would begin at 11:00am.

Please plan to check-in at the Festival information desk which will be at the UAlbany GO Desk in Campus Center West (near Starbucks and across from the Campus Center West Connections desk).

You will be given a yellow “staff” lanyard and be given an assignment for your shift.

Various volunteer activities would include:

Helping to direct attendees and answer questions in designated areas in the Campus Center West and Campus Center Lobby. Event Venue Monitor - assist with seating in your assigned venue, help keep event running on time, assisting with starting the films/clips for each event, assisting with room technology as needed. Welcoming attendees and passing out programs Speaker Escort - walking with featured speakers from the green room area to their designated event space

Most volunteer activities would be indoors.

The full schedule of events at the festival would be posted by early March 2026. To learn more about the Albany Film Festival, visit: https://www.albanyfilmfestival.org/
