HOBY New York East

HOBY began in NY State in the late 1970s. As the program expanded, the state split the program into multiple seminars to support the numerous communities in our region. HOBY NY East began in the late 80s servicing, approximately, the eastern portion of NY from as far south as the Bear Mountain Bridge north to the Canadian border. For over 30 years, we have worked to develop the next generation of leaders and to give back to the communities that support us through our community service initiatives.

At our core, we offer a 3-day leadership seminar for over 230 high school sophomores from across eastern NY. Through discussion panels and activities, participants are challenged to examine issues critically and draw their own conclusions to form their opinions.
