Who We Are

Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie Counties, a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Albany, is committed to active witness on behalf of the Scriptural values of mercy and justice. Catholic Charities, recognizing human need at all stages of life, responds to all persons regardless of race, creed or lifestyle, with special emphasis on the economically poor and the vulnerable. Catholic Charities serves and empowers persons in need, advocates for a just society, calls forth and collaborates with women and men of good will in fulfillment of its mission.

What We Do

In the three counties that Catholic Charities serves, programs are varied and are based on community needs, but serving the poor and vulnerable population is a common thread among all services offered. Caring Connection serves residents in Delaware Otsego & Schoharie County with assisting to meet their basic needs. Dispute Resolution Center serves residents in Delaware Otsego & Chenango County with mediators to help resolve their disputes in a peaceful manner. Victim Impact Panels in Delaware Otsego and Chenango County provides driving under the influence education. Alternatives To Incarceration serves Otsego & Schoharie County residents with an option to jail time. Summer Lunch Program serves Otsego County children and their families with a nutritious meal during the summer months. Child Care Services in Otsego County provides registered family day care providers with support services. Adult Treatment Court Case Management serves Otsego County residents with a needs assessments, service plan and goals. Child At Risk Response Team serves Schoharie County children who have been abused with a safe and secure environment to tell their story one time only to police, child protective and medial providers. Domestic Violence Program serves Schoharie County victims of domestic violence with a residential services and non-residential services such as counseling, legal advocacy and relocation assistance. Food Pantry serves Schoharie County residents with a four day supply of food and an annual Thanksgiving Basket. Thrift Shop in Schoharie County provides an array of household items at very affordable prices. Clinical Support Services provides Schoharie County residents with an option for mental health counseling. Family Support Services in Schoharie County assists families who have a child with mental health issues.
