Event Details: "A Day of Simple Giving" works with over 2000 volunteers who help organize, coordinate, collect, create, assemble and deliver thousands of basic necessities. The donations go directly to low-income individuals and families, shelters, schools, nonprofit organizations, literacy programs, and other community partners throughout the Capital Region.
Day of the Event: Volunteers assemble and create thousands of practical gifts specific to the needs in our communities: everyday essentials such as personal care items, household basics, items for local pantries, community meals, and literacy programs. All surplus donations will benefit local individuals and families throughout the year.
Sharing the Donations: All donations go directly to support the needs in our community. We distribute donations to hundreds of programs in the Capital Region: Books for Troops, Equinox, Schuyler Inn, 15 Love, Whitney Young, FOCUS Food Pantries, South End Children's Café, Albany City Schools, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, and many others.
