Description

The NYS Writers Institute works with many local organizations. We help coordinate volunteers at UAlbany for creative events related to the literary arts.

On October 14th Monday, Indigenous Peoples Day, Capital District LATINOS is celebrating Hispanic Herritage month by hosting an open mike night. We are calling for students and community memebers to share poems, stories, music, dances, skits and more about the theme of Latinx culture, history, justice, Indigenous peoples day and Hispanic heritage month.

(15 minute bus ride down central from UAlbany)

We are lookig for volunteers to speak, share their creative spirit and also help with event decor, prep, welcome table, food/drink prep and directional guide.

Volunteers are need at 4-9 pm. We can take individual and group sign up.
