We are seeking volunteers to assist with set up, on-site registration, day of event activities, and clean up at UAlbany's Out of the Darkness Campus Walk! Please register for this need if you would like to help out! Please note, volunteers are required to attend a training prior to the event (for volunteer hours). We will be in touch with the date/time of the training closer to the event date. Volunteers will be expected to arrive in alignment with the shift they sign up for, so please plan accordingly. This year's Out of the Darkness Campus Walk is on Saturday, April 12th starting at 12:00pm at Entry Plaza (on UAlbany's uptown campus). The walk aims to bring awareness and raise funds to assist with suicide prevention, advocacy, and promotion of mental health awareness. There will be tabling and activities prior to the event followed by an opening ceremony and 1.5 mile walk around campus. Individuals and teams are welcome! Shift expectations:
- Starting at 10 or 10:30 a.m.- set up tables and chairs, greet attendees and direct to registration, assist with registration, partake in crafts and activities, visit resource tables and provide support where needed
- Starting at 12 or 12:30 p.m.- greet attendees and direct to registration, assist with registration, partake in crafts and activities, visit resource tables and provide support where needed, participate in walk, assist with clean up
