On Tuesday, March 31, UAlbany is partnering with Special Olympics to hold a basketball championship game for local Special Olympics athletes. We are actively seeking volunteers to sit in the stands of UAlbany's Broadview Center and help cheer the athletes on as they compete for 1st place.
The game will take place from 7:00-8:15pm. Individuals who arrive at 6:45pm and stay the entire game will be awarded 1.5 hrs of community service credit. Individuals who attend the game and also bring a sign in support of the athletes (i.e. GO TEAM PURPLE, GO TEAM WHITE, D-FENCE, etc.) will be awarded an extra hour of service (2.5 hrs total).
This game is brought to you by UAlbany Unified Sports, a program that brings UAlbany students together with Special Olympics Athletes in an effort to allow these athletes to actualize their athletic dreams and ambitions. Thank you for your support of the program and the athletes!
