At SiCM, we are committed to improving the accessibility of our food pantry to better service the residents of Schenectady County in need. We are now working in partnership with Schenectady City School District, Hometown Health, the YWCA and other organizations to bring the healthy and nutritious foods distributed at our location on Albany Street to those satellite locations.
The Mont pleasant Public Library Mobile Pantry operates WEDNESDAYS from 10am – 11am on a bi-weekly basis beginning 3/29/23.
Volunteer Duties include:
- Intake
- Truck Distributor
- Table Distributor
- Greeter
Volunteers are expected to arrive at Mont Pleasant Public Library at 9:45am to meet the Mobile Truck driven by our Mobile Pantry Coordinator, Kelvin Garcia and can expect to leave around 11:30am after the site is packed up and cleared.
Safety is our top priority. The trucks will be stocked with cleaning supplies like disinfectants, gloves and first aid kits. Masks are optionable. Distribution is outside, so please keep this in mind and wear appropriate attire for the weather.
