Building on the success of last year’s “Movie Music Play-In,” the Albany Symphony and the Empire State Youth Orchestra (ESYO) are thrilled to present an exciting afternoon of collaborative music-making, generously supported by the Innovation Partnership. This special event, designed to engage and entertain audiences of all ages, will take place at the MVP Arena on October 14 at 3:00pm. Volunteer opportunities begin at 9am. Various shifts all day.
A | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Set Up & Registration Crew
Arrange chairs for the participants, set up and assist at registration and activity tables, direct arriving performers to greenrooms and instrument storage locations.
B | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – Rehearsal & Registration Crew
Assist participants during rehearsal, direct players around Arena and to amenities. Continue to greet and direct participants at the registration table in the atrium.
C | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Lunch Crew
Facilitate pizza pick up or delivery for ESYO and guest musicians, assist catering delivery for Albany Symphony musicians, care-take lunch spaces.
D | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Activity Crew
Represent your Albany Symphony at the activity fair area on the MVP Arena concourse. Activities will include a giant floor piano, a Makey-Makey, coloring sheets, and raffles! Volunteers are especially needed for the Instrument Petting Zoo. Please come for this session if you play violin, viola, bass, flute, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, or baritone sax!
E | 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM – Concert Crew
Most volunteers needed! Help with run of show for Symphony Side by Side, direct participants to appropriate players section during various concert parts, keep concert flow going by addressing audience/participant needs during the show
