SOMOS, Inc. is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to addressing the needs of the Hispanic population of New York State. The conference serves as a platform for legislators, scholars, business and labor leaders to address various concerns pertinent to the Hispanic community. Additionally, SOMOS, Inc. uses funds collected from the conference to empower youth with scholarships that encourage the furthering of their education. The organization aims to create opportunities for Hispanic youth that will facilitate their personal development, growth and future success.
On Saturday, March 7, SOMOS will host twelve legislative workshops (TBD) six, from 10:00am – 12:00pm and six, from 2:00-4:00pm in the Legislative Office Building (LOB) located at the Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza. SOMOS is interested in recruiting student volunteers to take notes during an assigned workshop. Volunteers will be asked to take copious notes during the assigned legislative workshop utilizing pen/paper or laptop. The finalized notes will then be delivered to the SOMOS planners. Need two (2) students per legislative workshop.
